Because their inspiring stories deserved to be told, we self-funded the first 12 videos of our acclaimed Women You Should Know docu-interview series. These mini-documentary films - WYSKumentaries - feature interviews and an in-depth look at remarkable women who cross all age groups and professional paths. The common thread that all of these very different women share is their unstoppable determination to pursue their passions, which can serve as inspiration for anyone, but particularly women and girls.

Now we need your help to produce the 2nd season of our acclaimed WYSKumentary Series. We have a new group of 12 dynamic and amazing women ready to tell their stories... and one will be picked by you.

Too many women have been left out or erased from history. Your generous support will help us fund production and will ultimately help us to grow a living archive of stories about fearless role models who are making an impact of the world.

WYSKumentary Series - Season 1

Laurie Rubin… acclaimed mezzo-soprano, author, jewelry designer, and Woman You Should Know. Blind since birth, she has never let her “difference” define her. Despite what people throughout her life told her she could and would never do, Laurie has never given up on her dreams or backed down from a challenge. Instead, she has created a rich and colorful life, and earned immense success in the highly competitive world of opera, proving that what makes you different can make you extraordinary.

In September 2012, Woman You Should Know Keija Minor made publishing history when she was named Editor-in-Chief of Brides, the legendary bridal magazine and one of 18 titles owned by Condé Nast Publications. Her well earned appointment gave her the distinction of being the first African-American to ever lead a Condé Nast consumer title in the publishing giant’s 103 year existence.

Whether you call her a WYSK or a Badass Chick, Loren Raye is a passionate young woman who impresses and inspires. At the ripe age of only 26 and just over 4 years out of Penn State, she has already built an enviable career for herself in the still largely male dominated field of radio working as the only female producer for Elvis Duran and the Morning Show. Her behind-the-scenes producing skills and her on-air talent contribute to the success of this nationally-syndicated radio show, which is based out of the world famous Z100 in New York City and simulcast to 5 million listeners on more than 50 radio stations nationwide, making it the most listened to Top 40 morning show in the U.S.

Samantha Brown is the girl next door with the best job in the world. In one unexpected, life changing moment, she went from travel novice and struggling actor to professional traveler and TV host of her own show. As a result, for the last 13 years, Samantha has gotten to journey to some of the most fascinating destinations across the globe and document her incredible experiences for a travel series bearing her name on the Travel Channel.
